Welcome to our
website
Hafod-Y-Garreg is a grade II* listed medieval farmhouse, that long
ago was a hall house. The house has been confirmed by dendro dating
as the oldest dwelling in Wales.
Although no longer a working farm there is Rosie the goat, and hens
that give you fresh free range eggs for breakfast.
The house is hidden in a hollow surrounded by hills and larch forests
that turn golden in autumn. It overlooks the Wye Valley and this stretch
of the river Wye is considered by many as the most beautiful. Just
walk in any direction and the landscape is criss-crossed with footpaths
and bridleways, not a soul in sight, a stress free retreat, there
cannot be many places more peaceful or idyllic.
